Dalby Triathlon

The 26th of February saw the running of the annual Dalby triathlon. It was great to see many Team Dalby members taking part and for many of them it was their first Triathlon experience. The kids started off the day bright and early with their Triathlon and local boy Ben Cullen came away with 2nd in his division and local emerging star Claudia Cramer took out her division. The Business House Challenge was a tight contest with Dalby State High taking the honours, Sandalwood Feedlot second and 'The Style Council' coming in a close third - well done to Gary (ride) and Danny (Run)on a superb effort. The teams comp was also a hotly contested field, a Toowoomba team stole the win away in the womens division from our very own Katrina Cullen led team who placed 2nd, Dalby Teams also finished 3rd, 4th and 5th. The mixed team event was a family affair with Katrina Walton (swim), Danny Nearhos (ride) and Nev Walton (run) taking the honours - Well Done Danny for backing up after the BHC run. The individuals went out amongst the teams and came home very strongly, our first female home was Bianca Daniels and first male Simon Doyle.Tony Nolan had an awesome race notching up a PB and Luke Rowney took out the Greg McVeigh Memorial Trophy for the fastest bike leg by a local competitor. Other strong performances put in by John Cullen, The Captain, Sue Cramer, Belinda Rowney, Tab Lloyd-Jones, Lyn Cuskelly, Charlene Hall, Rachele Cumming, Ruth Johnston, Jane Leggett, Hosko and Johno. Team Dalby fairs well in Dalby Crit

On Saturday 18th Feb the streets of Dalby came alive with the 2nd annual Dalby Crit. Featuring in the Masters C race were Luke Rowney and Tony Nolan, this was a hotly contested race eventually won by a Brisbane rider. Our Dalby riders never let the leaders out of sight Luke finished very strongly to claim 4th and Nolesy also faired very well considering his preparation was masked by lack of sleep and just plain buggered after loading of barriers. However these riders are continually proving themselves as the ones to watch....
Open C was fast and furious with 5 Bikeline members and 2 Dalby boys racing. Cooky and Brady kept up with the hot pace and we saw the lead change at nearly every lap with continual attacks. Cooky had an awesome race and made a jump with 2 laps to go, he set a blistering pace but unfortunaly the field caught up in the sprint with the win going to a young rider with a huge future, Cooky still managed to hold on to 4th and Brady finished 2nd.
All in all it was a fantastic day of racing, all the races were of an extremely high standard and is just a sign of things to come from TEAM DALBY.

Team Dalby Attacks The Bunya's

Here are some photos of a recent trip to the Bunya Mountains. The Bunya's is no place for the faint hearted and Team Dalby found that out on the steep incline.

Dalby scoops the pool at Synergy Park

After a recent trip to Synergy Park the Dalby contigent of Bikeline faired very well in various races. In C grade we managed 2 podium finishers with Luke 1st and Damo 2nd in a hard fought sprint finish. In B Grade Brady came up with the goods finishing 2nd for the second week in a row. Other riders also finished well Nolesy and Andrea in C Grade, Cooky in B Grade and Cormack Ebbage in the juniors, this was Mack's first race and he proved he has a big future in cycling.

Kick Ass Cooky Shines at Nerang Crit

Dalby's premier cyclist 'Kick Ass Cooky' shone at the recent Gold Coast Criterium. Cooky was unstoppable on the steep climbs of the Nerang course, he worked like a trojan but was unlucky not to post the win. Cooky is riding for Team Bikeline and has impressed some seasoned riders, Henk Vogels of Davitamon Lotto said, "I have never seen a rider quite like him!!!!".

Bron and Brady meet cycling stars

At the 2005 Noosa Multi Sport Festival Bron and Brady were able to to ride with Robbie McEwan (3 time Tour de France Green Jersey Winner) and Cadel Evans (2005 GC 8th overall Tour de France) of the Davitamon Lotto Team. They rode the Noosa Triathlon Course with the pros and had breakfast with them afterwards. Check out the photos.
