DALBY CRIT

1 2 3 FOR THE DALBY BOYS

The 2nd annual Dalby Crit was held on March 3rd in sweltering conditions with the mercury nudging the 38 mark. Our Dalby boys used this to their advantage. Cookie, Damo, Luke and Nolesy sprang into action in the heat of the day in the Vet C category (30 minutes + 2 laps). The local boys blew the pack away with constant attacks and hard turns at the front of the bunch. The finish was a sea of Bikeline jersey’s filled with Dalby boys…Cookie was the runaway winner with Luke and Nolesy in a hard fought and ridiculously close 2nd and 3rd, with Damo finishing just behind them in the pack.
Elite C saw are resident Fresh boys Big Dan and Tom Roger take on the ‘big boys’ from around the south east. The pace was fast and the heat was on. The boys found it a bit tough but with some more training and some Bikeline jersey’s on their backs it might make all the difference.
Brady hit the Elite B from the get go, with the flash new team strip of Ord Minett on his back he was out to impress his new team mates and local supporters and that is just what he did. Hanging out in the first few throughout the race Brady was well in contention of the taking out the event until on the bell lap at the final turn a Brisbane rider’s pedal hit the tarmac and so did he closely followed by Brady and 2 other riders. The positioning was perfect!! After leaving half of his left butt cheek on the road Brady walked away relatively unscathed.
Congratulations and well done to all who rode, supported and organised!! Team Dalby can look forward to kicking some serious butt again next year.
